Mission Statement
The Humane Society of Charles County has the dual mission of promoting the humane treatment of animals and of fostering a respect for all life, both animal and human.
History
The Humane Society had only 25 members, less than $100, and a dream when we began in 1978.
We started out with dog houses behind the old Ice Plant on Route 5. Eventually we added dog runs to the back of the building. In the early 1980’s, we moved to our current location on Industrial Park Drive
in St. Charles.
